Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael, the archangels, are great examples of how to follow Jesus.

Michael, "One Who Is Like God", is a protector and teaches us how to stay close to the Truth and away from sin.

Gabriel, "One Who Is the Strength of God" is the Lord's messenger and exemplifies our ability to find guidance in God and our calling in life.

Finally, Raphael, "Is the Healing Power of God: and helps us to heal body, mind, and spirit and find joy in our lives.

Pray these heavenly helpers intercede for us today!

LAYING DOWN THE MAN'S MANTLE

From a Dear Sister in the Lord to Me:

 The Lord says it is time to tell you this. And it was spoken urgently and with a hint of "If you don't do this right now you're in big poop trouble." So to speak.

 The word the Lord gave you last time I wrote, about laying down a man's mantle? He spoke that to me and shortly thereafter, very shortly, He caused the head trauma (because I was unable to stop on my own) and had me, very much to my surprise, quit my job. It was a huge step of faith. Huge. One income, sufficient in Him I was told but not so huge, and as you know we live in a very expensive area. It was a massive step of faith, but even more importantly it was a conscious decision to move from the mans role that even with circumstances as they were, I should never have taken up. My heart had been crying to walk as a woman, to lay down this great weight but I did not know how and was afraid. He put me in a place where I had to lay it down. No choice. Though I didn't realize that until afterwards.

A little while after I stopped working, He told me I had been, indeed still was, suffering from the clinical definition of exhaustion. And that that was the least of it. The Lord has been showing me over these years what I took up, how much I did, spoke, picked up that was not mine, was never mine to carry. That it was injuring in every way to me. Spiritually first off because it crushed who He meant me to be as a woman. I'll leave out the visuals He has shown me of what has been done to me. What my sin and brokenness and fear have allowed at the hands of the enemy. Physically it has been a devastating walk. A woman is not meant to work in the world. And there are physical prices for it. Many.

The emotional and psychological damage from my choices is beyond description. So much destruction. Too, a woman is not meant to have 'heads' over her other than the Lord God Adonai and her husband in Him. No head other than these mean good for her. None other will protect or cover and give wise council. None other. We are keepers of the home. Helpmates to our husbands. We are to sit under our husbands authority in Christ, covered in his love, covered and protected and cherished, even as the church must learn to do in the house of her beloved husband, Yeshua. Importantly, in trying to be what I understood to be a helpmate (it was the enemies definition and the current world view) I actually severely inhibited my husband's growth as a man.

Now it has become that a woman stands between her husband and the Lord. She corrects, teaches, leads. None of these are what we are called to do and by doing so we direct our husbands not to the Lord, but from Him. Great harm have I done Len. He has shown me what different choices could have been made and the impact they would have had on the last 30 years. Sad. This has been such a long and hard and painful walk as He reveals the consequences of my sin and brokenness and fears and as He corrects the weaknesses and wrong thinking.

We're all turned upside down. Women that is. Particularly women of the Lord. We are to model the church in her relationship to Christ. We fail. The world does not see His love for her because we do not model correctly. We don't walk as women covered in His love and the love of our husbands. We do not walk in softness, gentleness, good humor, faith and hope, bringing the light and love of Christ into our homes and making it a haven from the hard and dirty spiritual work our husbands are called to.

I will add this. As hard as it has been, and as painful the revelations, the relationship with the Father, the one He craves and is carving out for His little girls, and I mean little, is beyond description and a treasure impossible to lay words to. I think that is all He wants me to share for now. It is I believe a very clear heads up. He tells His children in order to prepare them. To prepare the way.

WARNING FROM A SISTER

You're fired. "STEP DOWN BEVERLY." (That is what the Lord just said.)

You have been teaching your husband. Showing Him, in Christ and with all your training and your rootedness (is that a word?) in Christ, to walk as not just a Catholic but as a Christian. A Christian whose faith is wholly rooted and grounded in Christ. The Lord has been using you to train him up, teaching him to pray differently, to hope differently, to live in faith differently. You're done. It is time for the Lord to train him up, one on one, as a man. Your time as spiritual head of your house is over. You are done. Done. Step down. Lay down your mantle, woman.

The Spirit is impressing very strongly that you are to "LAY DOWN YOUR MANTLE NOW. NOW.

"YOU ARE NO LONGER HEAD DAUGHTER. DID I NOT TELL YOU? DID YOU NOT HEAR? LAY IT DOWN!!! I AM IS SERIOUS BEVERLY. I GIVE YOU THIS CHOICE NOW. NOT LATER. NOW. LAY DOWN THE MANTLE OF HEADSHIP AND MANHOOD OR I AM WILL BIND IT TO YOU AND DUST MY HANDS OFF. YOU WILL NEVER BE RID OF IT. NOTHING YOU WILL DO, NO PRAYER YOU PRAY, NO CRY MADE TO ME IN THE LIGHT OR THE DARK WILL LOOSE YOU FROM IT. MAKE THE CHOICE NOW.

"DO YOU WISH TO WALK AS A WOMAN OF THE LIGHT? IN THE LIGHT? THE DELIGHT OF YOUR FATHER'S HEART? OR WILL YOU WALK IN THE SHADOWS? A FAKE MAN, BENT OVER IN EXHAUSTION AND DESPAIR CARRYING THAT WHICH YOU WERE NOT MEANT TO CARRY?

"I ASK YOU THIS CHILD FOR THE LAST TIME. LAY IT DOWN DEAR DAUGHTER. LAY IT DOWN. YOUR FEAR BINDS IT TO YOU AND YOUR STUBBORNNESS. YOU HEARD ME RIGHT THE FIRST TIME. LAY IT DOWN."

He reached down and cupped your face and blew into it.

"MANY ARE THE RICHES AND BLESSINGS IN STORE FOR YOU IF YOU DO THIS. MANY, MANY, MANY ARE THE SORROWS IF YOU REFUSE.

"CHOOSE NOW LITTLE ONE. NOW. NOW. NOW."

End of message.

This message was very strong and HE meant now. I would suggest doing it physically. You know? Put your hands to your shoulders and lift the spiritual mantle off them and lay it at the Lord's feet. An offering and an obedience. I can't see it clearly, but you are wearing some kind of man's head covering. Lift your hands to your head and remove it and lay it also at the Lord Yeshua's feet. Remove your shoes, for real, and put them aside and dust your hands off. In so doing you are putting aside once and for all the walk of a man.

He is calling you to complete and immediate obedience.

Please do this that I may one day see you walk illuminated in Christ, all your countenance radiant with woman's joy.

What’s in a name?

Of all the saints, Mary has the most feast days. There’s her birth, the Annunciation, her visit with Elizabeth, the Assumption, and more. Even her name is a feast day! This is no small feast either because names are a big deal in the church and in many spiritual traditions.

Giving or taking a name can symbolize a new moment in one’s life. In everyday living our name captures who we are and is often the first thing we share with another person.

On this feast of Mary’s holy name let us remember that we can always call her by name and be reminded of what it means to live fully as followers of Christ.

September 10-16, 2012 is National Invisible Chronic Illness Awareness Week.

This annual event, started in 2002 by Lisa Copen, features a variety of ways to get involved including a virtual conference September 10-14 online for free with speakers.

HOW THEIR GARDEN GREW

Last winter, the Elders of Ketchikan Pioneer Home in Ketchikan, Alaska, were asked if they could help a local nonprofit organization raise funds for a new building project. We discussed several options at the Resident Council meetings, like a car wash, a fund raising luncheon etc. Then, an Elder suggested we have a plant sale with all the seeds we had planted in our greenhouse a few months before. This way, the Elders could be directly involved from start to finish.

We tended the garden in our greenhouse, repotted the seedlings, nurtured new starts from the flourishing geraniums and impatiens, and prepared for a sale in May. The highlight of the sale was a crop of the most magnificent tomato plants in town! We advertised in the newspaper, on the radio and in our own newsletter. Elders volunteered to work the tables in shifts throughout the day.

In total, the Elders raised over $500.00 through the sale. We were so happy to be able to present a check to the capital campaign for our friends and neighbors at the nonprofit group,Community Connections. It was a moment of pride for the people living at Pioneer Home. We had involved Elders, their families, the community-at-large and were able to give instead of always receiving. Now, it’s August, and we are still enjoying the fruits of our labor from the extra plants that we kept. We are eating fresh tomatoes off the vine and hoping the cucumbers will survive a cooler than usual Alaska summer so we can eat them in a few weeks!
